About
“What if the needs of the client are far more nuanced than those in more “traditional” industries? Or they’re not sure how best to respond to an industry challenge that may require a significant pivot in their business model? What if they need to find capital in less conventional ways, or would prefer to “partner with” rather than “sell to” a party offering complementary services, additional development capital, or other solutions? The industries where I add real value to my clients require this type of direct experience.”

Consider this:
Investment banks derive income primarily from fees and commissions earned from mergers and acquisitions, capital raising activities, financial restructuring assignments, and a handful of other service offerings. When a client comes to an investment bank, they learn the investment bank’s business model requires it to assess how it can generate income from helping the client in one or more of a handful of transaction-oriented scenarios. Often, it is a short menu of options for the typical renewable fuel producer or potential investor into a specific sub-segment of the low-carbon world. Further, very few if any other advisors have the direct industry experience or depth of relationships within these emerging sectors to contribute significant resources ahead of an immediate transaction opportunity.
Decarbonization is transforming the world as we know it and all types of parties are seeking to find their respective strategic entry point into this new value chain. Participants in the low-carbon economy may have more options available to them than they may realize. Chabina Energy Partners was founded on a passion for advancing renewable fuels and decarbonization across these critical sectors.
